What Can I Expect

There's no doubting that the beaches of Cornwall are spectacular. But explore beyond the golden sands and you'll find there's still a wild side to Newquay, with amazing natural features and wildlife galore. This is where your coasteering adventure will take you.

Kitted out in wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aid and with an old pair of trainers on your feet, you're ready for your Cornish coastal exploration mission. You'll be guided along the craggy rocks to a rather special cove.

This gem of a place has everything you need for a full, coasteering escapade - and it's all natural. There are rock ledges, caves, cliffs and gullies galore. Crystal-clear blue sea waters ready to jump into and swim in, not to mention all the marine wildlife around you.

Of course, you don't have to do anything out of your comfort zone and any of the elements can be skipped. But we highly recommend swallowing your fears and tackling Smeagol's Perch - a naturally occurring hole right in the middle of the rock. Pop up from there and then jump into the natural plunge pool. Totally thrilling and exhilarating!

During your three-hour experience you'll be traversing rocks, jumping into gullies, wild swimming in the sea, negotiating sluices and rapids, leaping from rock ledges and more. All sessions start with a briefing, covering things like water safety, exit and entry, cliff lines and so on.

Availability

• Selected weekdays and weekends throughout the year
• 9am start time
• Experiences will go ahead if it is raining

Suitable For

• Minimum age 8
• Under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult
• Coasteering requires a basic level of fitness
• You must be able to swim a minimum of 50 metres

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to watch via a short easy accessible walk from the activity centre

Anything Else

• You will need to bring a pair of lace-up trainers with hard soles (if you don't have a pair of trainers you can hire some for a small hire charge on the day)
• You will need to bring swimwear for underneath the wetsuit and a towel
• A lock box for valuable and clothes storage, heated changing rooms, showers and toilets are all available to use on site
