What Can I Expect

A Coronation Street tour and hotel stay for a great Manchester weekend away! Spend one or two nights in a three or four star Manchester city centre hotel and visit the Coronation Street Experience and tour as part of your stay.

Coronation Street is the UK's longest-running soap opera. Since 2013, filming has taken place at Trafford Wharf on the banks of the River Irwell. Right next to the Manchester Imperial War Museum, the ITV Studios backlot is a closed working set, but at weekends you can access those actual, famous cobbled streets on a guided Corrie tour.

You start in the visitor centre, with a short film in the auditorium about everyone's favourite soap, with lots of funny scenes and laughs too. Your guide will then take you out onto the exterior set where the soap is currently filmed.

And it's at this moment that you'll realise you are literally walking where all the actors walk, right where all those well-known terraced houses, shops and local Weatherfield businesses are. It's surreal!

From Underworld, Prima Doner Kebabs and Roy's Rolls, to the Rover's Return and Dev's shop, you'll wander past it all - with loads of time to take selfies and hear lots of anecdotes and behind the scenes info on the show too.

The attention to detail in the near full-scale sets is amazing. Right down to the lost cat adverts in the window of The Kabin and the broken car in for repair at Webster's garage, it's fascinating stuff to see.

The Coronation Street Experience continues with the chance to look around replica interior sets of the Rovers, Roy's Rolls and Tyrone Dobbs's house. You can even have fun with the props, so don an apron and take a pic behind the counter at Roy's and lean on the bar at the Rovers!

And of course, your Manchester weekend doesn't end there. You're staying in a hotel for one or two nights, so explore this vibrant, happening and culture-filled city before and after your Coronation Street tour!
