What's Included

  • Carve a ring or pendant from wax using this home carving kit
  • Your kit will be delivered to your home
  • Choose from a standard kit (up to 150g of wax) or deluxe kit (up to 250g of wax)
  • The kit contains a file, knife, ring sizer (if ring kit is chosen), sandpaper, a pencil and two waxes
  • A quick start guide is included to give you tips on how to carve the wax
  • Once you are happy with your piece simply place it in the small tin provided, complete the specification form and send it off in the stamped and addressed envelope
  • Your jewellery piece will be cast into silver (or gold vermeil if chosen which incurs an extra cost) and sent back to you once complete

What Can I Expect

Jewellery carving kits - “Everything you need to create your perfect ring or pendant!” Jeweller Beth has produced this brilliant at-home kit so you can get creative carving and shaping your own jewellery.

Your kit will contain a design sheet and pencil for plotting out your design, according to the style of ring or pendant you'd like to have. Classic rings and signet rings are really popular - and look great when finished too.

You'll also find a knife, a file and sandpaper, along with a block of jeweller's wax. You'll need these simple tools to carve and file the wax ring or pendant to the shape you like, with the markings and textures you fancy too. The method is just like sculpting.

There's even a ring sizer, so you can make the ring the correct size to fit and a thimble to protect whilst you are filing away at that wax.

And then, here comes the clever bit. Design done, you pop the wax ring or pendant into the protective box and send it back to jeweller Beth. She will then put your work into a cast, which is fired in a kiln. The wax then melts and then liquid precious metals are poured into the cast to fill the space left by the melted wax - and that's how you get your ring shape!

With a delicate finishing touch to make everything smooth and shiny, Beth will then send your gorgeous, hand-made carved jewellery back to you. It's amazing to see your ideas on wax come to life.
