What Can I Expect

Junior karting in Staffordshire - with extra tuition included! So much more than just open kart sessions for kids, these experiences will teach youngsters the art of go kart racing at a friendly outdoor circuit near Lichfield.

Mini karters will love these sessions. They're scheduled to happen on Thursdays during school holidays and give the kids a whole morning of trackside fun. As long as your little ones are at least 1.2m tall and aged between 8 and 16 years, they can take part.

First things first, the kids get to meet the karting instructors at this Staffordshire centre. Then it's off to the driver briefing room to learn all about race craft. We're talking racing lines, braking points, cornering and (the one they all love) overtaking.

Then it's time to take what they've learned out onto the track to put into practice. Kids will be on the Family Circuit, which is a separate track off to the side of the main circuit. It's a bit wider to help with overtaking, the straights are a bit shorter and the corners a bit slower, making it ideal for younger racers.

The open practice session lets your mini karters get a feel of the track, how the kart drives and to build confidence. It's all done under the watchful eye of the instructing team who will give individual feedback to each child too.

The grand finale of these karting mornings for kids is The Final. This will be a proper race, with grid starting positions, start lights and all. Go, go, go kids and see just how fast the junior racers can lap the track !
