What Can I Expect

Go paddleboarding out of Brighton Marina for a sea SUP adventure! No experience is necessary for this coastal escapade, as the guides will teach you the paddle techniques you need to enjoy the tour.

Stand up paddleboarding is one of the most accessible ways to get out on the water and explore. And if you've never looked back at Brighton's famous seafront from the sea, it's a must-do! Everything takes on a whole new aspect.

You will be setting off from Brighton Marina for your paddleboarding safari led by a guide. All sessions start with an onshore safety briefing and once kitted out, you'll work on kneeling and then standing on the board. With a few key tips, this is relatively easy to grasp.

Heading further out on the sea, you'll need to master the technique of paddling in a straight line (rather than zig-zagging everywhere!). You'll be shown how keeping the shaft of your paddle vertical, making paddle strokes by reaching across your body with your top hand and padding as close to the board as possible will all help.

With around two hours on the water, you'll have time to head east from Brighton Marina, paddling under the imposing chalk cliffs. This quieter side to Brighton leads to the lovely coastal areas of Rottingdean and Ovingdean.

Having explored the Brighton coastline, it's time to head back to base. Of course, you will have nailed nifty little techniques like step-back turns by then, so you'll be turning and paddling with ease on your return!

Group sessions are kept to around four to eight paddlers and all the SUP gear is included. Beginner or not, you will love paddleboarding along the Brighton shoreline with a guide. Buy your SUP Brighton vouchers online now.
