Everything you need to get you up and away paddling is included; that's to say helmet, buoyancy aid, paddle and board. You can also hire wetsuits on the day. All groups are assigned instructors and they will start you off with an on-shore briefing.

Once out on the crystal clear freshwater lake, it might take you a bit of time to get used to the feeling of floating on the water if you've never done any paddle sport before. But with the encouragement of the instructors keeping an eye out for you and your fellow paddlers, you'll soon be getting the hang of it.

And we have to say, the calmness of these inland waters really helps when it comes to taking your first strokes in paddle boarding. You might start off kneeling, but, as confidence builds, you'll move on to actually standing up on the board (hence the name!).

• Valid for use on Saturdays and Sundays with weekdays during national school holidays
• Dates and session times are subject to availability

Suitable For

• Minimum age 8
• Under 12s must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times throughout their visit (including doing the activity)
• Participants aged under 16 must have a responsible adult (over the age of 21 unless legal parent/guardian) who remains on site at Lee Valley White Water Centre for the duration of their activity with one responsible adult to every four children (max)
• Maximum weight 18 stone
• All participants must complete a Flat Water Declaration before the experience.  Details will be provided when redeeming your voucher.  If under 18, a parent can complete on your behalf

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to come along and watch the action

Anything Else

• Closed toe shoes must be worn for this experience (No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes)
• All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
• Wetsuits and wetboots are not mandatory, but are available to hire for £5 per person, payable on the day
• There are onsite food outlets where food and refreshments can be purchased with great views of the lake
• On site kids play area and the beautiful nearby River Lee Country Park
• Disc Golf Course pay on the day activities are available to enjoy, subject to availability
