What Can I Expect

This Steam Train Afternoon Tea in Somerset comes with extra sparkle! Enjoy a traditional spread of sweet and savoury treats with a glass of Prosecco too, all served at your table onboard the steam train at East Somerset Railway.

You will be boarding the steam-hauled departure from Cranmore Station at 3.30pm. Your reserved table in the Mendip Belle first class dining car will be all laid out ready for you to sit down and enjoy afternoon tea.

As the train rumbles out of Cranmore to go along the heritage railway line to Mendip Vale station and back again, you have all the time in the world to sit back. Relax and enjoy the Somerset views - that's got to be worth toasting with a flute of Prosecco!

Your onboard teatime platter comprises four finger sandwiches, three dainties (cute miniature cakes) and, of course, the scones. And yes, they're served with clotted cream and jam. As well as your glass of bubbles, you'll have a pot of freshly-brewed tea on the table too.

The East Somerset Railway is a lovely place to explore, meet some of the passionate team and see stunning scenery. Make sure you arrive earlier in the day so you can explore the museum, engine shed and the workshop, where all the restoration work is done.

You are also very welcome to travel on any other scheduled services on the day of your booking. That means you can hop on and off (we recommend the walk back to Cranmore from Cranmore West!) and make the most of your voucher for your Steam Train Afternoon Tea in Somerset.
