What Can I Expect
This is the Tank Driving Taster in Leicestershire! The best-value way to get you onboard an FV432 tank and actually drive it. We are offering vouchers for one or two people, to go on weekdays or anytime experiences.
The team running these tasters is hugely passionate about tanks. They are the dedicated custodians of these amazing machines, which are all genuine ex-Army and have served their country in missions and war zones around the world.
With all that enthusiasm around, you’ll learn a lot about tanks from your instructors during your taster session. As well as being really informative and knowledgeable, they’ve all got stories and anecdotes to tell that’ll have you in stitches!
Your role for these experiences is to be part of the three-member tank crew. You will be heading out across the rugged terrain of a former WW2 bombing range that’s in the heart of rural Leicestershire, near Market Harborough.
As soon as it’s your turn to drive, you’ll be kitted out in an Army helmet and headset. You each drive one lap of the course with the hatch open and another in full battle mode, with the hatch closed. And that means you only have the periscope to see where you’re going!
When you’re not driving, you will be part of the onboard team, either perched in the turret seat on top of the tank (great views!) or inside the crew cabin, being bounced around. Of course, transporting soldiers was one of the main duties of these FV432s, so you get a real taste of what working life onboard a tank is like.
