What Can I Expect

Are you up for wing walking in Glasgow? Based out of Cumbernauld Airport perfectly placed in Scotland’s Central Belt, we are offering vouchers for midweek and anytime wing walks for anyone who dares walk the wing!

Cumbernauld, being near to Glasgow, is a great location for wing walking. It’s just off the M80 road to Stirling and easily reached from Edinburgh too. So if you’re in Scotland and you’ve always wanted to try this crazy experience, Cumbernauld Airport is ready for you.

You will be the star of your very own wing walking display. Flying strapped to the top wing of a vintage biplane at speeds between 80 and 130 mph is not for the fainthearted. And when you think you’ll be soaring as high as 400 ft and then swooping down to just 100ft, it’s all quite a mad thing to do.

Of course, safety is paramount and all wingwalkers undertake a full pre-flight briefing, during which everything is explained to you, so you know just what to expect.

Getting into position will see you climbing up onto the wing, which is around 10 ft off the ground. You’ll then be securely fixed into the special wing walking rig. Before you know it, the plane will be speeding up for take off…

Now you're airborne, catching your first aerial views of the Glasgow area whilst trying to catch your breath. The wind will be whizzing past your wee face (which is quite a sensation in itself!). Then as you find your bearings, the first thing you’re sure to want to do is try and wave at your friends and family watching in awe below!
