What Can I Expect

Metal and wire sculpture making workshops in Hampshire! Get seriously creative with these half and full-day courses to learn how to work different metals to make beautiful pieces of art.

From his Whitehill Bordon workshop, just off the historic highway between Petersfield and Farnham, Roger creates with and teaches about everything to do with soldering, bending and welding metals. He describes himself as ‘an artist, engineer, welder and dreamer', which goes a long way to explain his wonderfully intricate wire-sculpted dragonfly and fairies.

You will be invited to join Roger to learn the skills you want. Vouchers are valid for all the different workshops offered. That means you could be learning soldering and wire forming to create tiny dragonflies. Or you could be brazing and bending for a more robust offering. Or even learning to cold blacksmith and weld (both tig and arc) to create a 3D masterpiece of metal.

The sculpture workshop has everything needed to handle and manipulate the metal. From traditional hand-held tools and modern welding set ups, to a bending machine that can bend 16mm steel bars and 22mm steel tubes, Roger has all the kit!

What's great about these courses is that there will be a maximum of two students in the workshop. All teaching is geared to you and we love the fact that Roger is so generous with his knowledge. When we asked him if you really can learn to weld in a day he simply replied: ‘yes!'

So, roll your sleeves up and get ready to get stuck in, bending and soldering those wires and metal to shape your very own sculpture to take home with you.

Spending time with Roger in his sculpture workshop really is inspiring. His teaching, in whichever discipline you choose, will give you the confidence to start and succeed in your own metal projects. Buy your wire and metal sculpture workshop vouchers online from us now.
