What Can I Expect

Galloway canyoning adventures - exhilaration guaranteed! These experiences near Castle Douglas are not for the faint-hearted, as you’ll be jumping and swimming in fast-flowing waters but they are suitable for all levels.

We are offering half and full-day canyoning sessions in the Galloway area. It’s a great part of Scotland for exploring ancient water courses on an action-packed guided adventure.

If you’re new to canyoning, the half-day experiences are a great choice. You can choose between the Upper and Lower parts of Murray’s Canyon. What’s the difference between the two? We’d say the Upper part has more gnarly jumps into deeper waters, whilst the Lower section has slides and abseils.

Full-day experiences will totally (and literally) immerse you in the wild waters of the Galloway canyons. Many of these places are inaccessible on foot, so it’s a real adventure hidden within the dense forests and hills.

One thing to note is that on the Murray’s Canyon, some of the bigger jumps are optional and can be missed out. Not so on the King Roberts Canyon, so you need to keep your wits about you and go for it right to the exit at the end!

Of course, all experiences are led by your expert canyoning guide, who knows these fast flowing waters around Galloway really well. You will be exploring these wonderful locations in a safe, yet exhilarating way.

Availability

• Weekdays and weekends througout the year, subject to availability
• Experiences runs in all weather conditions unless water levels are too high (which is rare) in which case your experience will be rescheduled

Suitable For

• Minimum age 11
• Under 16s will need to have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian
• You must feel confident in the water and be able to swim
• If you have any medical conditions or previous injuries please make this known at the time of booking

Spectators

• Not suitable for spectators

Anything Else

• Please bring trainers with a good grip that you don't mind getting wet, a change of clothes, swim wear and a towel
• A changing robe will be provided for you to use on the day
• You will be required to sign a liability waver before doing your experience
